We arrived with props in hand and jumped almost immediately into rehearsal mode. Before we began, an ensemble member and I organized art supplies and unlocked the back room so prop and costume work could continue alongside the performance process. Even with several people absent, the room quickly filled with energy, laughter, and focus as we checked in and raised the ring together.
The ensemble stepped into missing roles so the rehearsal could move forward without interruption. From the very beginning of the run, the group committed fully to the work. There was a strong sense of momentum in the room. One ensemble member brought huge laughs throughout the night, while another continued to impress with her sharp instincts and comedic timing. The chemistry between scenes is becoming clearer with every run, and the ensemble’s confidence in the material continues to grow.
As we moved through the show, we focused heavily on pacing, entrances, exits, and props. The group worked through where each item should live backstage and how transitions can happen more fluidly. Conversations about storytelling extended beyond performance into design as well, with ensemble members continuing to develop handmade props and visual elements for the production.
Even with missing cast members and people stepping into multiple tracks, the ensemble kept the story moving smoothly. The rehearsal ended at almost exactly ninety minutes, a major milestone for the production process. After the run, the group reflected on how far the show has come and what still needs refining. The consensus was clear: keep the energy high, trust the process, and keep going even when mistakes happen.
We closed the evening the way we always do, in a circle together, ending the night with the ring and preparing for the final stretch toward performance.
