This session marked the ensemble’s final dress rehearsal before opening night. With the production nearly ready, the ensemble focused on running the show from beginning to end and practicing how to keep the performance moving when things do not go exactly as planned.
After check-ins and the ring, the ensemble prepared for their final full run. The show ran much more smoothly than previous rehearsals, with fewer stops. Many of the moving pieces came together during this performance.
After the run-through, facilitators and ensemble members gathered to give notes and identify the final details to address before opening night. The group discussed curtain cues, entrances, bows, transitions between sections and several remaining questions about music and staging.
Some cast members were frustrated and worried about the possible moments of uncertainty on stage. One ensemble member encouraged the group by saying,
“If we mess up, just improvise! The audience can’t tell.”
The discussion showcased the ensemble’s commitment to collaborative work, flexibility, and trust.
With the show running more smoothly and final notes given, the ensemble is ready to bring their work to the stage for opening night
