Rachel Chavkin

Rachel Chavkin is a three-time Obie award-winning director, writer, and dramaturg, as well as the artistic director of Brooklyn-based company the TEAM (www.theteamplays.org). Selected Work: The Great Comet of 1812 (Ars Nova/Kazino/A.R.T./Broadway – Drama Desk & Lortel nominations), Marco Ramirez’s The Royale (Old Globe, LCT – Drama Desk & Lortel nominations), Bess Wohl’s Small Mouth Sounds (World Premiere – Ars Nova/Off Broadway, upcoming national tour), Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown (NYTW), Anne Washburn’s Iphigenia in Aulis (CSC), Act II of Taylor Mac’s extravaganza The Lily’s Revenge (HERE), Meg Miroshnik’s Fairy Tale Lives of Russian Girls (Yale Rep), and multiple collaborations with Dave Malloy including Preludes (LCT3). The TEAM’s work has been seen worldwide, including at the Public, the Vineyard, PS122, UK’s National Theatre and Royal Court, the National Theatre of Scotland, and festivals across Europe, Australia, and Asia.
